As someone who prefers radio to television, I am quite taken with podcasts. I find them easier to work while listening to them than music and it’s easy to curate your content. My app, Pocket Casts, isn’t needy like Netflix asking you whether you are still interested in shows or making suggestions based on what shows you’ve hovered over for too long.<\/p>\n

I’ve written about Hidden Brain and Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations before. I still love both especially the Hidden Brain Alan Alda<\/a> episode about communication.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This month I’ve added Adam Buxton to the playlist. An obvious choice but one I’d missed. The episode with Miranda Sawyer<\/a> was an eye opener to a bemused 41 year old\u00a0as it deals with going through a midlife crisis. So that’s what this is?! I’d also recommend the Romesha Ranganathan and Kathy Burke ones.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Edith Bowman’s Soundtracking with Martin McDonagh<\/a>, the director of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, was so interesting. I came to it after seeing the film and listening to the score and it added another layer to my appreciation of the film.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n As always, Rob Bell is so good when delivering sermons on The Rob Cast. If religion is not your bag, he talks about the soul in a way that is relatable, inspiring and hyper-intelligent. This one about one bag of gold dude<\/a> gave me a fresh perspective on stuff that’s baking my noodle at the moment.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Finally,\u00a0 Sandi Toksvig but seven shades of wonderful on Table Manners<\/a> with Jessie Ware and her Mum was a smart cuddly listen. Perfect with a brew and some M&S lime jaffa cakes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
