When I was a child celebrating Bonfire Night at home was a thing. A few friends round, a box of fireworks from the newsagent, torches galore, gloves and a bucket of water for the sparklers.<\/p>\n

As health and safety has got better people are more likely to go to a public display but I still love a winter gathering to bring loved ones together.<\/p>\n

I remember going to my Auntie Pam and Uncle Joe’s with my Mum and Nan when I was about nine. There were loads of adults as Joe was from a huge family, lots of booze, loud music and mounds of food. Jacket potatoes cooked in fire embers, pans of chilli and a proper spread on the dining table. After dancing myself silly I was put to bed but Mum stayed up to watch the dawn and eat cheesecake for the first time.<\/p>\n

It’s one of my favourite\u00a0memories and to the grown-ups, it was nothing special, it was getting together to have a good time. These everyday moments of connection are what make people fizziest. I hope you share as many of them as you can.<\/p>\n
