Where I live in Liverpool we have lots of green space and it&#8217;s great for dog walking.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Before we had the dog there was one space that I loved more than any other. The International Festival Gardens is a five minute walk from my house. It&#8217;s the site of the 1980&#8217;s exhibition that I visited as a child. It&#8217;s had a rough history since then. It&#8217;s been an amusement park, it&#8217;s been derelict and it was reopened in 2012 as park space.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Only a tiny fraction of the original park remains but what does is beautiful. It&#8217;s parkland\/nature reserve and the path to the river. It&#8217;s filled with runners, cyclists, families, dog walkers and people with a desire to lounge about.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the area is subject to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fpliverpool.co.uk\/\">redevelopment plans <\/a>which look great but I hope that the gardens don&#8217;t lose the sense of being a haven of calm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some places have a really calming effect on you.
