One of the best things about a Sunday night is climbing into a clean bed. There’s something about fresh sheets and plumped pillows that is reassuring and comforting. All is dandy if you can snuggle down and smell fabric conditioner and sunshine.<\/p>\n

Although I admire the crisp white sheet look, I think it requires a Mediterranean level of sunshine to make it look glorious that Northern Britain simply does not have.<\/p>\n

We are not a subtle household and bold colour is always first choice but most people do a bright duvet cover with white sheets. This is my siren call for you to join the colourful sheets club (we’ve got badges and everything). A bold sheet increases the joy and cosiness in a room. And I mean bold, we ain’t messing about with magnolia here. That just looks like you don’t know how to do a boil wash and are too tight to buy new ones. We’ve got navy, mulberry, turquoise and an orange set that I lobbied long and hard for.<\/p>\n

Your bed should be your sanctuary. It’s for rest, relaxation and a bit of how’s yer father if that’s your bag. None of those things are boring. Make your bed your favourite place.<\/p>\n
