When I met the beloved I told him that I loved him (ours was a whirlwind kind of thing) but he would never own my soul. Three men got their first: Billy Bragg, Bruce Springsteen and Richard Thompson. Luckily, he’s an understanding man.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Music got me through my teenage years and is essential for my joy. Our Bill gives me the fizzy on so many levels. He’s a poet, a fabulous guitarist, articulate, witty and a passionate socialist. His gigs are inspiring and you come out ready to change the world. He can make me cry, laugh, dance and rage. He was our first dance – Brickbat – and is part of our lives. I’m writing this the day after the general election and I’m grateful for his impact on my personal politics. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n He is touring with his Bridges Not Walls tour<\/a> in November <\/span>and we have tickets for Liverpool. Can’t wait and if he plays Brickbat I will explode with joy.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
