You should tempt people into what you are writing with hints and suggestion then wallop them with the big news. That’s so not me. The headline says it all. Rob Bell is touring and he’s added UK dates. I’m so excited that I could squeak. No, I did squeak, loudly, then booked tickets.
Rob is a writer and podcaster who talks about God. Yup, that big topic handled with humour, grace and oodles of love. I came to Rob’s work through Oprah, of course, and since then have been a massive fan. My childhood dream was to do a theology degree. I find the way organised religions are created and maintained fascinating. Rob Bell takes you through all of this with a lightness that makes it easy to engage with but backed with intelligence and passion that ignites fires.
Even if you are not big on the God thing, his work is really useful in day to day life. He is the reason why my Mum lives with us. He’s also part of my toolkit for dealing with the monkeys. The stuff he talks about is universal so it always feels personally relevant. The husband is used to getting a text that says “Rob Bell has kicked my arse again today” which is the cue to listen to the podcast.
