When I was a child I, and every other child I knew loved leafing through the catalogue and telling my Mum exactly what I wanted for Christmas. I spent hours lying on the living room floor dreaming of those toys. I never got the A La Carte Kitchen from Bluebird so I didn’t get to make anyone baked beans and swiss roll for breakfast.

This year the littlest monkey found the Not On The High Street Christmas gift guide. Well, she’d never seen such a wonder. The internet means no one has big fat Littlewoods catalogues anymore. She wanted everything. Her own sword and shield, everything unicorn and all the knitted goods she could think off. After I prised the guide out of her paws and sent her to bed I went online to order a present or two. Once down the beautiful things rabbit hole, I discovered true joy. THEY STILL MAKE TOY POST OFFICES!!! It is true – look! My heart is skipping a beat just typing this.

I loved my toy post office. My young self loved a bit of admin. It was one of the best toys ever and they still make them. Obviously, the Not On The High Street one above is beautiful but if your budget is lower Amazon have this one which is brilliant. There are also lovely toy shops and doctors sets that I would have loved as a kid.

Now must dash, I need to add to my letter to Father Christmas.
