We’ve had a house rejig.

When we moved into our four bedroom house we had the eldest monkey in a bedroom of her own and the middlest and littlest monkey shared a room. The fourth bedroom was used as an office. It was my favourite room. Under the eaves, a little haven although I did have to share it with the tumble dryer.

Then Mum moved in and the fourth bedroom had to be sacrificed. You do whatever you need to for your family. I was sorry to lose my office/chill out space but needs must. I got more cupboard space downstairs as part of the deal which meant that the tumble drier could be on the same floor as the washing machine at last.

Recently the eldest monkey said that she wants to share with her sisters. They are a tight-knit tribe and they love being together. This meant triple bunk beds, new bedding and the fourth bedroom available again.

It’s now the office/chill out space again. The beloved and I can work, read, listen to music, watch telly and chill out. It needs fairy lights but I believe all rooms need fairy lights. Having a tiny bit of space makes such a difference and it’s all thanks to the beloved who gets the importance of having room to work and think and works tirelessly for it.
