I am a lazy woman and I am fine with that. I want huge doe eyes with big fluttery eyelashes that cause a light breeze when you blink. I cannot be bothered applying false eyelashes on a daily basis. Lash extensions are not for me so I rely on mascara.
Mascara is the most disappointing of makeup products. It promises so much and delivers so little. I’ve been using YSL False Lash Effect for years. It is the best but it’s £25.50 a tube and it dries out quickly. Nothing else gives you that massive sooty rock chick eye that I love. I flirted briefly with Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes but I always went back to my favourite.
In an attempt to save some cash I have been looking for an alternative. I’d come up short until Sali Hughes recommended L’Oreal Paradise Mascara which is twelve quid. I purchased more in hope than expectation. I should have trusted Ms Hughes – it’s brilliant. Big, fat lashes and I didn’t even need eyelash curlers. No eyelash curlers? I’ve been using them for 25 years as my eyelashes are long but super straight and no curling mascara has ever worked. Until now.
This mascara makes me do a dance of joy and that’s something to get fizzy about.
