Last night after Supervet (I heart Noel) on Channel 4, Educating Greater Manchester was on. I was idly watching but Mum wasn’t happy. I was badly bullied from my first day of school to my last at 15 when neither of us could take anymore. Due to my experience school and teenagers give neither of us the warm fuzzy feelings. So I explained that I was watching because of Mushy in Educating Yorkshire.
Musharaf was the boy with a stammer who had to get through his English GCSE and a 10-minute speech which looked like an impossible task. As I explained what happened to him with the help of Mr Burton and the rest of the staff I cried like I did when I first watched it. Thanks to the wonders of the modern world the episode is available on All 4 so I made Mum and the beloved watch it. Then everyone cried.
Fizzy is watching someone overcome their challenges while helped, encouraged and cheered through it by people who care. Now pass the bloody tissues.
