Isn’t feeling overwhelmed the absolute pits? Recently it’s been work, work, some more work, monkey wrangling, house stuff, financial management and other soul sapping delights.
Saturday morning was filled with chiropody appointments, kitchen cleaning, menu planning and sofa shopping. Manic doesn’t come into it. I’d arranged to see my best friend but made no plans because the overwhelm had taken me. She came sofa shopping and then we did a great impression of the vultures in Jungle Book.
Rather than making a decision we took the hound to Calderstones park. He got to let out his zoomies and get sniffed by all the other dogs. Puppy heaven.
We sat down outside in the sun, drank tea and talked about our lives. Without interruption, without judgement and without needing to dash off to the next thing. Totally refreshing and totally fizzy.
Some times when you think you need a holiday, a lottery win and a complete life overhaul you just need an hour or two walking with your dog and your bestie.
Thanks for 23 years fizziness, Trish. I couldn’t be me without you.
