Some days you have to amuse yourself or you will lose the plot. Today was such a day but luckily it was saved by a fajita related injury, sellotape, a whiteboard pen and creative colleagues.

And lo, historical finger puppet theatre* was born! It’s fun and educational. Working with a history graduate and a history geek meant a good debate on which characters we would use while I made sure that women were not overlooked.

Our starting line up are:

Nefertiti

Julius Caesar

Eleanor of Aquitaine

Genghis Khan

Elizabeth I

Moctezuma II

George Washington

Napoleon Bonaparte

Emmeline Pankhurst

Winston Churchill

I think that’s a good starting point. There now needs to be felt characters made, a stage built, a script. That’s all before we move on to the difficult job of casting. The most fizzy thing is knowing your colleagues are wonderfully weird, fabulously creative and willing to share a tiny bit of their talent with you.

*we also do sensible lawyery stuff too.
