Some days Perkin Flump is your spirit animal.
“The water is too lumpy. The floor is too wet and sloshy. And the porridge is too loud. It’s a too much morning.”
On days like this you need a day out but on too much mornings that’s effort. That’s when it pays to explore your local area. Norton Priory is a 30 minute drive from here and it’s a huge chunk of local history that’s a great way to lose an afternoon. You can see the progression from 12th century priory through Tudor times and upheaval of the Reformation to it’s transformation to Georgian splendour. And who doesn’t want to visit the National Collection of Quince?
It is truly beautiful and a true insight into how the country has changed in 900 years. It’s good to be somewhere you can see the passage of time, it reminds you to breathe out and this too shall pass.
