I don’t do stylised Instagram shots. Would love to but I lack patience and talent. I come from the rarefied school of thought of “fuck it, that’ll do”. Most things get chucked on the dining table and haphazardly snapped and that’ll do.
I love the dining room because it’s a hodge podge of crazy. A plaque reminding me that Bowie loves me, a framed poster of The Untouchables, hummingbird wall paper and a turquoise table runner that I picked up in a trolley dash in M&S. The table runner, now sadly out of stock, gets so many compliments and it always shocks me when people think it’s too much for their homes.
Life can be tough, scary and hard. That’s all the more reason to stuff your life with as much beauty as you can handle. Remind yourself that the world is gorgeous and humans are capable of making wonders every day.
