I will never be Stevie Nicks. An obvious statement but a true one. I will also never be Diane Keaton or Audrey Hepburn. In the past, this has kept me awake and worried at my soul. I am not bohemian, ditzy or gamine. I am me and I lean towards Bette Midler’s stage persona rather than a Hitchcockian ice queen.
I’m over it now but I will still never be Stevie Nicks. And Stevie Nicks is Stevie frigging Nicks. This woman stands secure in her own talent, deliberately crafted her image, writes beautifully and remains iconic. Stevie Nicks. I could be in reverie for hours.
Track down her Oprah’s Masterclass which is brilliant. This is a clip of her talking about Landslide. The woman wrote Landslide! Stevie Nicks is one of the women I am grateful for. I’m not Stevie Nicks but she is and that’s bloody marvellous.
