It was an early start today so it was up to walk the hound before we do the last minute work/packing/cleaning before we go to Anglesey.
Still bleary eyed I was trying not fall over the extendable lead when I stopped and said “wow”. I said it a few times actually. There were two bright yellow birds at the end of the street. So bright, so delicate and so cheerful. It was a true tiny moment of wonder to kick start my weekend.
I am completely ignorant when it comes to bird species of the British Isles so I had to come home and Google “small yellow birds”. The RSPB website is very useful at times like this and apparently I saw a pair of siskins. Never heard of them so I’ve seen something beautiful and learnt something all before 8am. It’s a good day.
