God, I love Paris! I would move there in a heartbeat. It makes my pulse race just thinking of it. My beloved husband had never been. This had to be rectified.
As there are three monkeys (children) to look after, it had to be a short jaunt. EasyJet flies direct from Liverpool airport making it so easy. Getting the SNCF from Charles De Gaulle was a breeze apart from a wee marital when looking for our hotel. Not sure Parisians were used to a scouser hollering “I’m looking for the pigging Maccies” through the streets but we aim to entertain.
Our hotel was the gorgeous Design Hotel Sorbonne which I can’t recommend highly enough. It’s on the Left Bank and a 5 minute walk to Notre Dame. The staff were so helpful and the restaurant recommendations spot on.
We had 48 hours and made them all count. We managed to squeeze in Notre Dame, The Louvre (book tickets and avoid the queues), Musee-Orangerie to see Monet’s water lilies and a peek at the Eiffel Tower. I got to wander round Shakespeare and Company book shop and spend time breathing out and breathing Paris in with my beloved.
Bliss in the City of Light.
