I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but it’s pigging freezing out there at the moment. I can usually tell myself that it’s bracing, refreshing or a change from centrally heated clamminess. Not now. It is cold. I am cold. We are cold.
While the shops are trying to flog us spring attire, I am having none it. I want jumpers, thermal vests and fleece lined boots.
I can pretend it’s the 70’s in this jumper from Next. It may not flatter the blessed with boobs but I am cold. Or this in pink. I’m not after subtle.
Uniqlo HeatTech is on offer. Buy it all and never suffer icicle thigh again (or is that just me).
The monkeys bought me the metallic versions of this for Christmas. Flattering it is not, I look like a massive eejit in it, but I am toasty warm.
If you don’t have mini-feet like mine Sorel have these beauties in stock. They are a tad subdued for me so I may go for these.
When you get in out of the arctic you want warming up. Hot chocolate is what you need. I am particular about mugs. No stupid lips that cause dribbling, nothing that can poke you in the eye. It needs to be rounded so you can cradle it. This does the job.
Now, finally, let’s not mess about with hot chocolate. Melt a bar of Cadbury chocolate, either in the microwave or in a glass bowl over simmering water. When that is done, gently heat some milk and stir in the melted chocolate. Add vanilla if that’s your bag or cinnamon if you like it with a kick. That will do but if it has been one of those days add some Bailey’s Luxe and don’t be shy. Enjoy with PJs on, feet up and an enormous sense of great wellbeing.
