What are you wearing on Christmas Day? It’s a loaded question.
When I was younger, the Christmas outfit was easy. Sparkly tights, sparkly frock, all the makeup and slippers. Now I’m usually making the dinner (not this year!) the idea of dressing for dinner just makes me tired.
Now I do like a posh pyjama but while loungewear looks good on the telly I tend to look like a badly tied sack and as a woman blessed in the boob department I need a bra on to function. Also, I love my family but on Christmas Day I want them to see me as the fabulous creature I am, not wolfing down scrambled eggs in my nightie. The old Christmas jumper doesn’t work. You’ll get too warm and end up in a non-festive t-shirt.
The trick is to do fabulous light. Get showered, make yourself smell divine and then wear whatever makes you feel comfortable but gorgeous. For me, that will be leggings and a t-shirt dress, loads of eyeliner and sparkly trainers.
It’s Christmas Day, you are allowed to relax and enjoy. You need to be able to go for a walk, eat a massive lunch, play games and lie on the couch snoozing. You get to be you. And you are very definitely fabulous.
