I love a present. I wanted to say I love a beautifully wrapped present but to be honest, it can be wrapped in the finest ribbons and bows, or with cheap wrapping paper, in lumps with too much sellotape and I’ll be happy.
They say loveĀ is in the details and that is true. Putting some thought into how you wrap your gifts can make things extra special, but that doesn’t detract from the joy of a wonkily wrapped pair of socks from your kids.
I usually get two contrasting wrapping papers and make sure that the piles of gifts look pretty. This year I went for something different. We bought a giant roll of brown paper and a big ball of string. Oh yes, we’ve gone Victorian. The monkeys decorated some luggage tags and that’s it. They look brilliant. Really simple and cheap but very effective. We’ve decided to do something similar next year but may get fancy with some ribbon.
Picking a theme and going for it makes everything easier and I’m all about that at Christmas.
