Although All About The Fizzy is a sparkly space, I am not a human magpie. Usually, I tend to keep glitter and sequins to a minimum. This is mainly due to practicality. Glitter gets everywhere and ill-placed sequins can rub against and ruin other clothes. I am ignoring my sparkly shoe habit. I like to keep things simple and glittery shoes do all the work for you.
The thing is, it’s Christmas. I want to look like the shiniest bauble on the tree. I want glitter, sequins, lamé, rhinestones! Heck, you can add a faux fur jacket and a marabou cape to that. I want all of it. For those who are of a similar persuasion here is my shopping list.
Monsoon Juliet dress. Silver and gold, long sleeves, gorgeous. It is short but if you are a modest dresser then stick it over leggings.
Next Glitter Twist dress. Again it’s a modest number with sleeves (cue angel song) but this one comes in green, silver or red and will be very flattering if you curvy. Also from Next this silver leather look pencil skirt. I reckon this is quite versatile. That and wipe clean.
Now this Crackle Drape dress from M&S is what I call dog bait. My mutt would be hanging off the front of this in no time but it’s shiny as a shiny thing and easy to wear. They also do a fab Metallic Knot detail jumpsuit if that is your bag. If you can find one in your size the Sparkly Sequin dress is the stuff of dreams.
If you want limited sparkle then a top is the way to go and head to Asos. Floaty and shiny this Sheer and Sequined Kimono t-shirt is easy to put with jeans or that pencil skirt from Next.
Finally, my beloved Boden. I have a navy and gold glitter striped Breton from years ago which I wear at least once a week. They do Christmas designs which are beautiful. This Drapey Sequined skirt is a thing of beauty. I’d wear it with a slouchy jumper and trainers but it can be partied up. If you want a statement piece (who doesn’t?) then this Jacquard Party Blazer is the way to go.
So much shiny stuff, so little time. If I spot anything else when I’m out and about I’ll stick it on Instagram. The feed is on the home page and you can follow @thefizzypixie.
