Last year we had a new bathroom fitted. Mum was moving in and our old shower was too high and small for her to use comfortably. At last, we had an excuse to rip out the old black and white bathroom and replace it with something luxurious and elegant!
The suite I had chosen was made by a company that was going out of business and the plumber, Barry, did not recommend buying it in case there was an issue with it later. So after much deliberation, my dream of a green and cream Victorian style bathroom was swapped for hyper-modern black and white (yup, again) with underfloor heating and sparkly walls. I did not understand what I was ordered and I have floor to ceiling glitter in the bathroom. I’m not sure that the Victorians would approve.
It looks brilliant but I’ve not been too sure on how to accessorise as it is already over the top. It needs calming down. I’ve decided to concentrate on the modernist elements rather than the glam so thanks to a Debenhams gift voucher (cheers Mum) it’s getting some pebble style touches and new towels. The final flourish will be some fake ferns from Ikea to add some texture. You’ve got to love plants you do not have to tend.
It’s never the big stuff that makes you the fizziest, it’s the little touches that make it all worthwhile. That and underfloor heating.
