I am in the middle of battling my messy brain. It’s not a battle of wits, it’s a bloody cat fight and my messy brain has been winning. This cannot continue because living in a constant fog with a clawing feeling in your chest isn’t sustainable.

As part of the fight back I booked myself a treatment at the Lush Spa. I hadn’t thought about going to Lush because I associate spa treatments with posh hotels and Groupon vouchers. I am not the ideal spa customer. I have a strong aversion to the usual plinky plonky music of spas, my bullshit detector screams when someone mentions toxins and if anyone tries to flog me magic anti-ageing bum lifting juice I swear uncontrollably. The Lush experience is totally different.

I had the Synaesthesia treatment which is a massage treatment that involves all your senses. It’s tailored to each person and the information you get about it beforehand is deliberately limited so you experience it completely.

I wouldn’t spoil the experience for anyone but I can recommend it whole heartedly. For such an immersive experience there is no waffle, whale noise or pressure. It’s a fantastic massage, in a great space, from warm talented people. I left feeling relaxed, spaced out and lighter of heart and mind. Proper fizzy.
