I have always loved make up. I love how it can make you look. I love how it can make you feel. I love the brain space applying it can give you. I love the camaraderie of sharing make tips and fails with other people. I am, when it comes to make up, an advertiser’s dream.

Recently, something has changed. Although I admire with all my heart a cut crease eye and killer contouring, I quite simply cannot be arsed. I want to get up and put on whatever make up makes me look perky and like me. With all the black eyeliner obviously. After seeing Atomic Blonde I did smokey eyes with tight liner in Charlize’s honour. It looked great but by the end of the day it just felt dark and tiring rather than sexy as hell. Not what I’m after.

Today was another epic dog walk and I didn’t want to look knackered and blotchy but I’m not cracking out a full face to pick up poo. Enter Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream. This stuff is perky in a tube. I smeared it on, whacked on the mascara and blusher and looked like I’d had 8 hours sleep and existed on kale. The shade range is not exactly inclusive which is rubbish and do not get me started on this CC cream bobbins but it makes you look good and it takes 12 seconds to apply. Also, there was a post walk nap and I woke up not looking a drooling, confused zombie which I class as a win.
