Some make up items are covetable and sexy, like red lipstick and the blackest mascara. Some are utilitarian work horses such as primer and concealer. Some are overlooked entirely.
I give you, the humble blusher. Lost in a sea of contour, highlight and bronzer, blusher is all too often forgotten in the bottom of the make up bag, cracked, crumbling and unloved. It’s a sad state of affairs as it is the best face cheerer upper there is.
Too much foundation and concealer can make you look like a mannequin. If you are not in the mood a bold lipstick can wear you and leave you feeling fraudulent and exposed. When you go to the loo and scare yourself in the mirror by looking washed out, dull and flat, first of all remember the lighting will not be flattering. Then whack on some blusher. These are my favourites.
Max Factor Miracle Touch Blusher in Soft Cooper. A small shade range but they do a ssuit a wide range of skin tones.
Stila Convertible Colour in Lilium. It looks really boring but makes you look awake and fresh. There will a shade to suit you.
Sleek Blush By Three in Pink Lemonade. Inexpensive, brilliant colour range and great products.
Nars Blush in Orgasm. I had to. There’s a reason it’s a classic.
