Slight crush on PC Grant

I do love a good accidental stumble across an excellent book. Rivers of London by Ben Aaronvitch was on a reading list for the work book club. It didn’t have it’s moment in the sun but I was intrigued enough to try it anyway.

Oh Lord, I fell in love. It follows the story of PC Peter Grant, a young policeman in London, who finds out that there is a supernatural element to policing. Filled with an Inspector/Wizard, river Gods and Goddesses, vampires and the spirit of riot and rebellion, it’s modern, intelligent, funny and gripping. I quickly worked my way through the series and have the latest, The Furthest Station, on pre-order.

There’s also a series of graphic novels for those (me!) addicted to PC Grant.
